Pikey Peak Everest Panorama Trekking is an exclusive short and scenic adventure around the southern mid-hills of Everest. In the district of lower Solu-Khumbu around the Mid-East Himalayas, where scenic Pikey Peak stands.

Pikey Peak Everest Panorama Trekking is a unique moderate trek. It is a pleasant country walk for all types of people and age groups without any problem of altitude sickness. Adventure around sheer wilderness away from mainstream trekking routes, on least ventured areas by a mass group of trekkers.

The walk leads on a serene trail with glorious scenery of beautiful landscapes of rolling green hills and snow mountain ranges. Besides, the scenery and lovely walks from farm villages to dense woods covered in tall rhododendrons and trees. Trekkers have an opportunity to immerse in local cultures of Buddhism,
as followed by the native Sherpa.

The trek begins after a long drive from Kathmandu to reach the rural farm areas of Solu. The walk starts towards the northwest and follows the country road through villages adorned with cultural heritage. Then the climb takes you to the top of Pikey Peak it is a high scenic hill amidst pristine surroundings.
The views from scenic Pikey Hill are exclusive, offering the best panorama of Himalayan Mountain ranges.

Pikey Peak Everest Panorama covers more than 360° views of Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang towards the west. Extend to Central Jugal Himal with Gaurishankar, Melung Tse, and Numbur Himal with Mt. Everest and Lhotse. As far as Makalu and Kanchenjunga range, in the far east directions, the scenery is mesmerizing to cherish.

After a scenic moment on the highest point of the adventure, the return journey leads to alternative routes. Walking to the lovely village of Junbesi of strong Sherpa heritage and culture. At Junbesi, have time to explore the religious complex of Thupten Choling Monastery. Exploring the monastery of great religious and cultural interest, along with the views of Numbur Himal. The trek completes heading towards the village of Phaplu for an exciting drive back to Kathmandu. Pikey Peak Everest Panorama Trek Itinerary

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by staff and guide and for a short drive to your hotels. Situated in the hub of Kathmandu city, around Thamel an exciting location. After checking into your rooms with refreshment our guides will brief regarding the treks. Evening a welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurant to get familiar with the culture and Nepali food.

Morning after breakfast, an exciting tour of Nepalese culture and historical tour around Nepal's landmarks and World Heritage Sites. Rest of the day after an interesting tour, with time for trek preparations.

Early morning departure from the hotel after breakfast as time for an exciting overland journey. Taking the comfort of 4 Wheel Drives or similar which is good for rough country road. The journey heads east from Kathmandu valley through the district of Ramechap to reach around Solu areas. Then arriving at Dhap a small farm town on time for dinner and overnight stop.

Morning after breakfast, first day trek begins following along the dirt trail to Sigane a small farm village. The trail then follows under construction road for few hours, to reach Jhapre village. Situated above a deep valley with views of Everest and Numbur Himal. Along the walk following interesting Buddhist stupa and enjoy the view over north of Jhapre. The village streets with few teahouses, cafés, and shops. From here a gradual winding climb through pine and rhododendron forests to reach Bulbule. From Jampre walk continues heading uphill through cool shade of forest to Bulbule for overnight. Enjoy the comfort of a nice simple lodge, but neat rooms on first day of good walks.

From Bulbule, trekkers will be delighted walking around the serene country trail. In the spring, one can witness various species of rhododendron flowers throughout the walk. As well with spectacular views of the Himalaya, the trail leads to a series of ups and downs. Following the ridge path, and then reaching a wide pasture field for yaks to graze. Walk around a Mani wall and then with climb to Pikey Peak Base Camp for overnight stop. Enjoy the comfort of a nice homely lodge, afternoon visit the local small yak cheese factory.

An early morning start along after a good breakfast, as well as carrying a pack lunch for the long day. The walk begins following a winding uphill and switchbacks until Pikey Peak is reached, after walking for more than an hour. On a clear morning, enjoy the stunning sunrise views over the Himalayan range with Mt. Everest, Tharmasarku, Khangtiaga, Khatanga, Karyolung to the north, Kanchenjunga to the east, and Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, and Langtang to the west. After an exciting moment being on the highest point of the trek and reaching the main highlights of the adventures.
Return journey on an alternative route, with downhill for few hours through lovely rhododendron and pine forest. To Jase Bhanjyang a high scenic ridge, then on downhill to reach Lamjura-La. Located on the main trail of Jiri and Junbesi, possible lunch stops. From here a long descent through fir and rhododendron forest to reach the bottom of Lamjura at Taktor. The walk is pleasant from here on winding gradual path and down to Junbesi. A lovely Sherpa village, after walking past several Mani walls and stone chortens. At Junbesi in the comfort of a nice lodge with views of Numbur Chuli peak above the village.

Enjoy a rest day for hike to Thupten Choling Monastery, after a good breakfast in Junbesi. The round trip of about three hours, the trail follows along the Junbesi Khola with slow uphill climb. Then reaching Thupten Choling Monastery, established in the 19th century by Tibetan Buddhists saints and gurus. Explore the monastery complex and the interior, and observe monks and nuns in religious activities, before heading back to Junbesi.

After an enjoyable time in and around Junbesi lovely village and observing impressive culture of Buddhism. Today the last day of trekking, as the walk follow on winding up and down with short up Ringmo village. From here on pleasant trail to Phaplu for last overnight stop around Solu-Khumbu district.

An early morning departure from the lodge in Phaplu for a long, and interesting drive to Kathmandu. Having breakfast, then board in jeep or similar four-wheel drives. The drive leads through many scattered farm villages and towns, on leaving Solu-Khumbu, entering around the warm areas of Ramechap. The drive continues joining on the main Highway, then the drive gets pleasant on winding road. Reaching Dhulikhel Town, and then back into bustling city of Kathmandu. After an interesting long overland journey, arriving in the city hub, then check into the hotels on time for dinner.

A free day in Kathmandu, reserved as contingency in case of delay due to road condition. It might get obstructed from landslide, when it rains making the motor road muddy and slippery sometimes. Nevertheless, think positive and enjoy the free day, for tour or shopping souvenirs of Nepal.

Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, after a great experience on Pikey Peak, Everest Panorama Trekking. As time for the international flight transfer to Kathmandu and Nepal International Airport. Then bid farewell to the guide, staff as you enter the airport terminal for homeward bound flight, or to next port of call.

Pikey Peak Everest Panorama Trek FAQs

Why not take a flight to Phaplu than taking a long drive?

The flight to Phaplu to land at a small airport in Solu, does not operate on regular basis, like for Lukla. It is possible to fly to Phaplu airport, but needs to charter the whole plane, depending upon the group size. The flight to Phaplu more or less unreliable and unpredictable, at present few smaller aircraft operates on charter basis. The next options, is taking the services of a helicopter as per the size of a group. The cost comes higher and expensive than sharing in a jeep for both ways before and after trekking.

How many kilometers / miles do we drive before the trek?   

Approx. 250 km/156 miles driving distance to reach Dhap Bazaar from Kathmandu of more than 7 hours drives. Reaching by late evening on time for a dinner, the same mileage distance and hour’s drives from Junbesi to Kathmandu.

Can we have single rooms on this trek?

Certainly, can have single rooms on this treks but needs to be informed on booking for this trek. In the high seasons, the local lodges will be overbooked, needs to book earlier as possible. As well it depends upon the overnight stops, most lodges at Bulbule and in Pikey Base Camp. Provides double or dormitory, it all depends upon the seasons of trekking and at designated overnights stops.

Do all places have electricity powers to charge our devices?

All lodges en route to Pikey Base Camp and Junbesi Village, have the facilities of electricity, either by small local Hydro-Plant or run by solar power. Some lodges provide electricity only for dining, where trekkers need a good torch or flash lights for your rooms.
