Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Panorama Trekking is the shortest and most enjoyable country walk, around the green hills of Southern Annapurna.
Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Panorama Trekking takes you to scenic hilltops at Ghorepani and Poon Hill. It is one of the picturesque and best viewpoints around the Himalayas for a stunning sunrise. As well as for more than 360° panorama of the Himalayan Mountain ranges with the world’s three highest peaks.
Namely, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, and Annapurna-I, 8,091 m, include Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail Peak. Besides the spectacular views of snow peaks, the local culture and surroundings are equally fascinating to experience. The scenic walk follows amidst the beautiful forest, lined with tall rhododendrons, magnolia, pines, oaks, and fir trees.
The area around Ghorepani and Poon Hill is regarded as the world’s natural rhododendrons garden. Trekkers can witness various species of rhododendrons, with other wildflowers, during the springtime.
Annapurna & Dhaulagiri panorama trekking starts and ends at beautiful Pokhara, a city blessed with beauty and natural wonders. The trek from Pokhara involves a short scenic drive to start the walks to the high hills of the Annapurna Himalayas.
Lead to an exciting walk from sub-tropical paddy areas and then reach the cooler alpine hill within a few days of trekking. The trail follows from warm, low farmland with a climb to Ulleri and towards Ghorepani Villages.
Ghorepani is at the base of Poon Hill, as well as on the old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade Route. It extends towards Tibet, China, via Upper Mustang high country, where mules and horsed laden with merchant’s goods. Passed through Ghorepani, and it was the vantage point to water the horses and mules. Hence the name Ghode-Pani, a place with water for horses, later it became Ghorepani.
At Ghorepani, an early morning hike to reach on top of Poon Hill, the highest point of the trek. Rewards stunning sunrise views with the panorama of the Himalayan range of snow peaks.
After an enjoyable and exciting time at Ghorepani and Poon Hill, return journey back to Pokhara. The trek leads on an alternative route, which makes a short circuit of Annapurna Hill Treks. The climb leads through lovely dense woods to Tadapani and downhill to the large Ghandruk Village.
At Ghandruk, explore the local cultures with the superb views of Annapurna Peaks. Finally, the walk slowly ends, with an exciting drive to Pokhara after a great experience on Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Panorama Trekking.
